Half Moon Babymoon
Half Moon Bay, California | 9/20/2020

The year was 2020. In February, our hearts were full of joy when we learned we were expecting our first child. Just a month later, the world shut down after news of the pandemic spread, and everything changed. Amidst the isolation and uncertainty, we tried our best to cope with the pregnancy by going on road trips in Northern California during time off from our work as healthcare providers in the thick of the pandemic. As summer came and went, we decided we still wanted to get maternity photos. But how? Because of concerns of social distancing and safety, we decided to challenge ourselves to take the photos ourselves.
Given the circumstances, we had a great time! Half Moon Bay had plenty of epic backdrops and settings within a 20-30 minute radius: a photographer’s dream! We took advantage of the redwood forests, the beautiful beach and cliffs, a cypress grove, a lush pumpkin farm on the side of the PCH, and the breathtaking view from our AirBnB’s balcony with an ocean view... the clouds and haze made for romantic, mysterious lighting and we were blessed with how empty the settings were due to the social distancing.
It was a time capsule and a weekend to remember!
